A group of year 12 students were allocated a Dragon, a charity and given £100 with an aim to raise £1,000 in 4 months. Tring school had our charity Dacorum Mencap, the amazing students raised £4,287.89 for us! They won a trophy on the night for Highest Profit. A big thank you to all of them.
The team was large and found it easier to split into 2, with a team leader from each group liaising with Carol the manager at Dacorum Mencap and Dragon Sarah Whale from Profit Impact.
To turn their initial start up of £100 into much more the team brain stormed and came up with the following activities. A band night which shook the walls of the Boxmoor play House. Cake sales that tempted everyone. A raffle and auction night with great prizes £200, £100 and £50 and spa day treats. And, as if that wasn’t enough, 4 of the lads walked a 26-mile marathon! They learnt about team work, communication, fund raising, marketing and resilience and all about our charity and how everyone of our members needs to be listened too. And valued equally. The team started together, and they ended together and their huge efforts raising so much money will help us replace our sport equipment and subsidise our holidays and days out.
